Disable AI for New Leads: Test Safely Before Going Live

Disable AI for New Leads

Disable AI for New Leads is a safety switch that automatically turns AI Employee replies OFF for newly created leads. It is built for testing a newly connected phone number or channel before you let real customers see your AI in action.

What it does

  • When enabled, **AI is disabled for all new leads created from now on**.
  • **Existing leads are not affected.** Their AI keeps working as normal.
  • This prevents the AI Employee from auto-replying to brand new customers while you are still testing.

Where to find it

1. Click your **Profile** (top-right).

2. Go to **Company Settings**.

3. Scroll down to the **AI Employee** section.

4. Find **Disable AI for New Leads**.

> Important: after switching anything in Company Settings ON or OFF, scroll down and click Save.

Recommended rollout workflow

1. **Connect** a new messaging channel or phone number.

2. **Turn ON** Disable AI for New Leads.

3. **Test** your AI with a few internal contacts first.

4. When ready, **turn OFF** Disable AI for New Leads.

5. **Optional**: enable AI for all existing leads in bulk:

  • Go to **Leads**.
  • Select all leads.
  • Click **Bulk Operations**.
  • Turn ON **Handled by AI**.
  • Click **Save**.
  • After refresh, the robot icon becomes a tick on the selected leads.

When this is most useful

  • Onboarding a new phone number you don't fully trust yet.
  • Connecting a second Instagram or Messenger account.
  • Rolling out a new system prompt and you want to QA before exposing it.
  • Switching channels and you want to stage the cutover without auto-replying to real customers in the meantime.
