How to Set Up Lead Automation


Lead Automation: Dynamically Changing a Lead's Journey


This powerful tool allows the AI to move a lead from one automation flow to another based on their conversation.


What it does


Adds a lead to a new automation and/or removes them from their current one.


Use Cases


  • Moving a lead from a "Prospect" flow to a "Customer" flow after they purchase.
  • Switching a lead from a "Cart Recovery" flow to a "Post-Purchase" flow.

How to Configure


Option A: AI Manager (Recommended)


Describe the logic to AI Manager, for example: "Move leads to the Customer automation when they book." It finds the automation ID, sets up the tool, and updates your system prompt for you.


Option B: Manual Setup


Step 1: Get the Automation ID


  1. Go to Automations in your dashboard
  2. Click on the automation you want to use
  3. Copy the Automation ID

Step 2: Add the AI Tool


  1. In AI Tools, add the \lead_automation\ tool.
  2. Give it a relevant tool name
  3. Use this description format:

> "Use this tool (TOOL NAME) to add lead to automation with slug ID {AUTOMATION ID} when the customer (TRIGGER SCENARIO)"


_You only need to change the BOLD words_


  1. Copy the description and paste it in the system prompt

Example Configuration


  • Tool Name: Move to Customer Flow
  • Description: "Use this tool (Move to Customer Flow) to add lead to automation with slug ID {abc123} when the customer confirms they have made a payment"
