Instagram DM Integration
You have customers asking questions on Instagram, but it's hard to reply quickly while also managing chats on WhatsApp or Facebook. By connecting Instagram as a messaging channel, you can see all Instagram messages in one place, and your AI agent can automatically reply to customers who find you through ads or your profile.
Connecting Instagram to ABC Salesbot
Prerequisites
- Instagram Professional account (Business or Creator). A personal private profile will not work.
- ABC Salesbot account
Setup Steps
- Log in to your ABC Salesbot account.
- Go to the top right corner and click on your Profile.
- Select Messaging Channels from the menu.
- Click the Add Messaging Channel button.
- Select Instagram from the list and click Start.
- Click Connect with Instagram. This opens a Facebook/Instagram login page.
- Important: if your account is a Personal account, it will ask you to switch. You must change it to a Professional Account (choose "Business").
- Select your category (e.g., Shopping & Retail) and click Next.
- Review your contact info (you can skip this if you want).
- Click Allow to give ABC Salesbot permission to access your messages.
- Once done, you'll see a "Connected Successfully" message.

A Professional account is mandatory: this feature will not work with a personal private Instagram profile. Switch to a Business or Creator account first.

- Ads and replies: once connected, if you run ads on Instagram, the AI can handle the replies instantly.
- Tone: keep responses casual and friendly to match Instagram's style.
- Emojis: use emojis appropriately.
- Speed: respond quickly to story mentions and DM requests.
