How to Import Leads
This guide covers how to import existing, new, or cold leads into ABC Sales AI using the CSV template. It also explains how to automatically assign these imported leads to specific tags and automations.
How to Import Leads
Step 1: Access the Import Menu
- Log in to your ABC Sales AI dashboard.
- Navigate to the Leads tab on the top menu bar.
- On the top left of the Leads page, click the Bulk Operations dropdown.
- Select Import.
Step 2: Download the CSV Template
- An "Import Leads from CSV" window will pop up.
- Click the hyperlink text that says "Click here" to download the ABC Sales AI default CSV template.
- The template file will download to your computer.
Step 3: Prepare the Lead Data
Open the downloaded CSV template in Microsoft Excel, then:
- Clear the sample data: Delete the two sample lead rows provided in the template.
- Name/Email: Fill in the respective columns for each lead.
- Phone: Enter the phone number. Best practice: include the country code (e.g.,
+60123454321). You may put an apostrophe (') at the beginning of the phone number to standardize the phone number format in Excel. - Tags: If you want to categorize specific leads, type your desired tags in the "Tags" column (e.g.,
testing). Multiple tags can be used. - Leave unused columns blank: For columns you don't need (e.g., Telegram ID, External ID, Timezone, Currency), simply leave the cells empty.
Step 4: Save the File
Once you have entered all your leads, save or export the spreadsheet specifically as a CSV (Comma Delimited) file.
Step 5: Upload and Configure Automations
- Return to ABC Sales AI and open the Bulk Operations > Import window again.
- Click the CHOOSE FILE button and select your updated CSV file.
- (Optional) Add Global Tags: Type tags into the "Tags" field in the pop-up to apply them to every lead in this specific batch.
- (Optional) Add Automations: Under the "Select Automation" dropdown, choose an automation sequence if you want these leads to trigger a specific workflow immediately (e.g., select "New lead import").
- Click the Upload leads csv button at the bottom right. The system will process your file.
Step 6: Verify the Import
- Close the import window. You should now see your newly imported leads populating the main Leads dashboard along with their contact info and assigned tags.
- Verify automations: Navigate to the Automations tab on the top menu.
- Select the automation you assigned during the import (e.g., "New lead import").
- Click the Subscribed Leads icon (the small people icon) to confirm your imported leads have been successfully added to the sequence.
